I don't collect data for the sake of it. Any information gathered is used to make the site work, let us interact, and help me understand what you enjoy reading.

  • Your email is used to create a little anonymous code (a "hash") to see if you have a profile picture with the Gravatar service, which might then display it next to your comment.

  • If you use my contact form, I’ll have your name and email so I can write back to you. I'll only use this to answer your question or message.

  • Like virtually every website on the planet, my server automatically logs some basic technical information when you visit. This includes things like your IP address, the type of browser you're using, and which pages you visited. I use tools like Google Analytics to look at this anonymous data. It helps me see which posts are popular, how people find my site, and if anything is broken so I can fix it.

A Quick Word on Cookies
